Description

An early George III tea urn, of baluster form on a waisted and pierced pedestal base with two cast scroll handles, a high domed cover and a knop finial, the whole decorated with repousse flowers, husks and scrolls and two cartouches; one with engraved crest and motto, the other with a coat of arms* the spigot with ivory handle, by Francis Crump, London 1761 (the feet later, with additions marks for Charles Thomas & George Fox), 19.5in (49.5cm) high, 78oz. * For Maynard.
