A George II Scottish mounted ivory and dark hardwood snuff mull, of waisted upright form with a vertically striped body, the cover with an elaborate hinge and an oval plaque engraved with a Baron's coronet crest and motto "SURGENDUM AD VERSUS URGENTIA", the base inscribed "Dona: 7mo. Ob: 10mo Feby 1755 atat: Suae 85", unmarked c.1740, 2.5in (6.5cm) high.
