Description

An early Victorian silvergilt mounted blue-john goblet with a fluted, inverted baluster pedestal and a domed foot with a shaped outline and border engraving, by C. Rawlings & W. Summers, London 1840, 4.75in (12cm) high. *Interesting to note that William Beckford in his later years purchased a number of small silver articles incorporating hardstones and Rawlings & Summers appeared to have supplied many of these works, some examples dating from 1839 and 1840.
