Description
λ A Victorian Tunbridge ware and rosewood work box, the hinged lid marquetry inlaid with a three-masted sailing ship the 'Somersetshire', the body with burr veneered panels, the interior with a divided lift-out tray with two lidded compartments and a pin cushion, on disc feet, 15.3cm high, 32.3cm wide, 25.7cm deep.
'Somersetshire' was launched in 1810 on the River Thames. She made two voyages to Australia transporting convicts.
