A late 19th century Japanese silkwork embroidered picture for the American market, with metal thread, depicting an eagle with a glass eye and with flags and a shield with stars and stripes, with a banner, inscribed with the American motto 'E. PLURIBUS UNUM', together with a companion picture of two exotic pheasants, 46 x 47cm, each mounted, framed and glazed. (2)
