An Art Nouveau gold brooch by Comte Prosper d'Épinay de Briort, c1910, depicting a woman with flowing hair surrounded by mistletoe, set with small rose-cut diamonds, signed with initial B and stamped to the brooch pin with maker's lozenge NM, French control marks, 2.6cm wide, fitted case

Comte Prosper d'Epinay de Briort (1836-1914) was a French sculptor, jeweller and engraver, who translated his sculptural themes into gold medal-jewels. He worked for Boucheron.
