A pair of mid-18th century Irish silver cups,
by George Cartwright, Dublin circa 1750,
circular form, leaf capped scroll handle, central girdle, on raised circular bases, engraved with armorials within foliate scroll mantling, and inscribed 'The Gift of Thomas Dawson Esq. as a memorial of his dear father Rich'd Dawson Esq. to Charles Mayne Esq. his friend and Kinsman', height 11.5cm, approx. weight 23oz. (2)
The arms are that of Dawson quartering another.
