An early 19th century Scottish provincial gold vinaigrette,

marked J.M three times, possibly for James Morrison, Fochabers, circa 1830,

rounded rectangular form, with a foliate thumb piece, the hinged cover engraved with a coronet above initials MA, the interior with a foliate pierced hinged grille, length 4.4cm, approx. weight 30.6g.
