An English 40 bore Day's Patent underhammer percussion walking stick gun, tapering smooth bore barrel 28 in., with Birmingham proof marks and also stamped 'TWIST', round action with concealed trigger, marked 'DAY'S PATENT' and numbered 14, wooden pistol grip with sighting groove, c. 1840.
