A CHINESE ARCHAIC BRONZE CHARIOT BELL

PROBABLY LATE SHANG DYNASTY/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY

Cast as a pierced circle with a spherical jingle to the centre, all raised on a rectangular-section column, together with a fitted wood stand with a paper label for the H J Lowenthal Collection, 147, 16cm, 249g. (2)

Provenance: from the collection of Mr H J Lowenthal, no.147, purchased from Bonhams Knightsbridge on 25th February 2015, lot 360 (part).
