A JAPANESE WOOD NETSUKE OF A KIRIN

MEIJI 1868-1912

After a design by Tomotada of Kyoto, the mythical creature depicted seated on its haunches, with its head raised and its mouth wide open, with fire wisps licking up both sides of its scaly body, a two-character mark for Gyokuseki under its hoof, 6.4cm.
