A JAPANESE GOSU SATSUMA KETTLE
MEIJI 1868-1912
The compressed circular body decorated with thick enamels and gilt with two large ho-ho birds in flight above paulownia leaves and flowers, a reference to the Imperial mon, the rim with a band of cash and with lotus flowers and scrolling tendrils to the underside, a two-character signature to the base for Tanshu, 15.5m.
