A late 17th/early 18th century mounted ivory tobacco box and cover, oval with plain sides, reeded borders and an ivory-inset base the cover with a pattern of pique work, inlaid tortoiseshell roundels and light carving, the interior painted with a miniature of a half-naked young lady, unmarked c.1700, 3.8in (10cm) long.
