A CINNABAR LACQUER SEAL PASTE BOX AND COVER
17TH/18TH CENTURY
One side carved with a scholar and demon sitting amongst rocks and pine trees, the reverse decorated with a scene of two scholars in a garden with mountains in the distance, all against intricately carved geometric diaper grounds, 7.3cm. (2)
Provenance: given by Peter Spark to the owner's father in the 1920s.
