Description
A George III silver swing-handled basket,
by Wakelin and Taylor, London 1789,
tapering circular form, intertwined basket work body above a border of acanthus leaves, rope-work borders and rope-work swing-handle, the centre engraved with an armorial, diameter 27.3cm, approx. weight 50oz.
The arms are those for John Poulett, 4th Earl Poulett impaling Pocock. The 4th Earl married Sophia Pocock in 1782.
