Description
A Brislington delftware blue dash Adam and Eve charger c.1700, painted with a scene of the Temptation, the couple standing confidently either side of the Tree of Knowledge, each holding a Forbidden Fruit while a smiling serpent with a forked tail coils around the fruit-laden tree, within a narrow manganese band and a blue dash rim, two sections broken out and repaired with old rivets, 34.5cm.
Provenance: acquired from Sotheby's, 17th April 1973, lot 190.
