,A rare William IV 'Cottayam' needlework sampler, worked with an alphabet, a crown and Psalm 41:1, signed and dated 'Cottayam Decr: 1835', 17.8 x 15cm, in a later glazed frame.

Cottayam, now Kottayam, is a city in South West India in the state of Kerala. It is known as the city of letters. During British rule it was a missionary post and many schools and educational institutions were founded.
