George Taylor Friend (1882-1969) was the most accomplished engraver of the day, along with running his own studio, he also taught at the Central School of Arts and Crafts until 1900. He worked on pieces in conjunction with H,G. Murphy, such as The Sea Beaker now in the Victoria & Albert collection.
