A GANDHARAN GREY SCHIST FRAGMENT OF A FRIEZE
1ST/2ND CENTURY AD
One side carved in relief with a repeating design of flowerheads contained within diamonds, each bloom simply rendered with five petals, with finely incised lines to the borders, 60.5cm.
Provenance: from a Belgian private collection, acquired in the London art market in 1976.
