A PAIR OF JAPANESE KAKIEMON SHALLOW BOWLS
EDO PERIOD, 17TH CENTURY
The foliate bodies with everted rims, the cavetto decorated with butterflies fluttering between two sprays of peonies painted in blue, yellow, red, cyan and black enamels, both raised on a short foot, 13.7cm dia. (2)
Provenance: an English private collection formed in the 1960s.
