A JAPANESE KOMAI INLAID IRON DISH
TAISHO PERIOD, 20TH CENTURY
The well decorated with a figure in a river landscape walking towards thatched buildings, the sky and water cleverly rendered as the undecorated black ground, a rocky outcrop with further buildings in the distance and the silhouette of Mount Fuji towering above, the reverse with the dragonfly trademark of Komai Otojiro (1842-1917) and a seal mark for Nihon koku Kyoto no ju Komai sei, 15.2cm.
