A JAPANESE KOMAI-STYLE MIXED METAL THREE-TIERED BOX
TAISHO PERIOD, 20TH CENTURY
Of rectangular shape, the body decorated with a river landscape to the sides, a large temple on stilts to the front, possibly a reference to Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, with Mount Fuji in the distance, the lid with a majestic peacock perched on a branch of pine, the box opening to reveal three compartments with chased motifs of flowers and birds, the base with Fujii Yoshitoyo/Biho's Fujii Damascene Co. trade mark, 8cm x 8cm x 10.5cm.
