λ An early Victorian ivory 'Royal Italian Opera Covent Garden' pass or token, for the Honourable A. Willoughby, for stage box number 1, dated 1847, 3.7cm diameter.
Provenance: 'A Lifetime of Collecting' - The property of a Gentleman.
The Theatre Royal, Covent Garden re-opened in 1847 as the Royal Italian Opera Covent Garden, after the auditorium was completely remodelled following a fire in 1846.
