Description
A French Vernis Martin style mantel timepiece, the eight day brass drum movement with a platform lever escapement, the backplate numbered '499', the circular enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, the Louis XV style case with gilt metal mounts and painted with flowers and with a man playing the bagpipes, late 19th / early 20th century, 23.8cm high.
Provenance: The estate of the late Sir John Alexander Campbell-Orde, 6th Baronet (1943-2016).
