A 19th century carved oval greenstone intaglio mounted gold brooch, depicting the Aegis of Peace restraining the horses of war above torches and armour, 3.5cm wide, mounted in a gold Etruscan style brooch
The subject is after the painting 'Le Génie de la Paix arrêtant les chevaux de Mars' by Benigne Gagneraux, 1793.
