MID-19TH CENTURY
the interior with four coloured lithographic views of the Thames tunnel, Whopping and Rotherhide, inscribed 'The opal views are manufactured by J. J. Mathewson Nos. 4, 21, 51 & 59 Thames Tunnel and will always preserve their colour in any climate', with further inscriptions relating to the building of the tunnel, the exterior with a pair of glass buttons to revolve the scenes, lense lacking
