Description
A mitten gauntlet, the fluted cuff with recessed border and rope twist edge, fluting continuing across the four articulated metacarpal lames each with scalloped trailing edge, shaped knuckle plate, fingers protected by five further shaped articulated lames, thumb guard formed with three ridges converging at a low apex and with three flutes, three further small plates riveted to a leather strip, in the 16th century manner and thought to be of the period.
