A GEORGE IV MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK
BY THWAITES AND REED, C.1825-30
in the form of a domestic regulator, the brass eight day movement with thick plates and four turned pillars, the anchor escapement striking on a bell, the ten inch circular silvered dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, signed 'Thwaites & Reed Clerkenwell', with strike / silent dial and pierced blued steel hands, the scroll decorated hood with a brass bezel and fish scale sides, above a flame veneered panelled case, with Maple's depository labels for 'Major J. Lockhart Gow'
