A CHINESE SOAPSTONE TEAPOT AND COVER
QING DYNASTY
Decorated in low relief with two cartouches enclosing sprays of peony and prunus, the flowers reserved on a stylised wave ground heightened with gilt, with finely incised lotus scrolls surrounding the panels and to the cover, 15.5cm. (2)
Provenance: from the collection of Dr Elmut Hanfmann (d.1998) and Dr Ingeborg, and thence by descent.
