A LARGE CHINESE SOAPSTONE FIGURE OF SHOULAO

LATE QING DYNASTY

Carved standing holding a ruyi sceptre in his right hand, his loose robes incised with stylised clouds, all supported on a rectangular-section pedestal, the pale stone with red and russet inclusions, the figure 26cm.

Provenance: from a deceased estate, Hampshire.
