A PAIR OF CHINESE CINNABAR LACQUER 'SCHOLARS' VASES
18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Each carved to the central bulbous section with a continuous scene of scholars and their attendants in rocky landscapes, with pine and wutong trees dispersed through the setting, the flared necks and feet decorated with lotus sprays, each together with gilt-wood mounts, 34.6cm excluding mounts. (6)
