A CHINESE APPLE GREEN JADEITE PENDANT
QING DYNASTY
Carved in low relief with a boy holding a long stem of lotus, the child smiles as he greets a bird, with his hair tied in two buns, the reverse with a four character mark reading xishi lianlian, all beneath scrolling designs, with a small circular hole for suspension, the pale stone with vibrant green markings, 5.5cm.
The phrase xishi lianlian conveys the wish for happy events to occur again and again.
