A LARGE JAPANESE GOSU SATSUMA VASE
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
The tall ovoid body rising to a short neck with four small handles applied to the shoulder, decorated with a continuous design of flowering prunus trees growing from behind banded hedges, with gold scrolling clouds above, the neck with a band of chrysanthemum flowerheads in rhomboids, 42.5cm.
