A LARGE JAPANESE SATSUMA VASE BY KINKOZAN

MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH OR 20TH CENTURY

The tall hexagonal vase richly decorated with a continuous scene of many boys and the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, Shichifukujin, the children appearing from Hotei's treasure sack, playing with a multitude of Daruma dolls emerging from Daikoku's mallet, the shoulder with panels of brocade patterns, the neck and foot with bands of key fret, the decoration rendered in thick raised enamels on the gilt ground, the base signed Dai Nihon Kinkozan, 44.5cm.
