A SMALL COLLECTION OF JAPANESE SWORD MOUNTINGS
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY
Comprising: a quatrelobed mokko gata tsuba in Mino-Goto style, the hand guard decorated to each side with praying mantis in relief on a dense ground of flowers and foliage; a kozuka handle with an armour-clad samurai and a dragon above, the reverse with mokune decoration; together with two fuchi, one with a continuous design of thatched huts in a mountainous river landscape and the other with a man wearing a Shinto priest's hat, signed Chogaku with kao, 9.6cm max.
