FIVE JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASES

MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY

One totai shippo cloisonné on porcelain, the barrel-shaped body decorated with a continuous scene of a bird and butterflies amongst flowers; the other four forming two pairs, one with cranes on a navy-blue ground, the other with roses and bamboo on a bright yellow ground, both inscribed 'Japan Sato cloisonné' underneath, all four with silver-coloured mounts to the rims and feet, 21.7cm max. (5)
