Catalogue notes
Born in Prague in 1922, Roubicek studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague from 1940 to 1952 before becoming chief designer at the Novy Bor Glassworks. He has exhibited widely including at the Corning Museum, New York in 1981 (the museum is currently exhibiting two similar works by him).
