A Sudan writing board
19th century
with hand written koranic script to each side and School boys slate Picked up at the gate of the Mahdi's Tomb Omdurman Sept 3rd 1895,
48cm long, 14cm wide.
The tomb of Muhammad Ahmad bin Abd Allah, Mahdi of Sudan (1844 - 1885) is located in Omdurman in Sudan on the western banks of the River Nile opposite Khartoum.
