A Luzon chief's hat

La Laguna Province, Philippines

basketry with silver mounts and a waxed finish, the lozenge shaped top mount with chased floral decoration and with a faceted finial, the sides with applied bands, the interior with an oval frame hung with a pair of fabric strands with metal mounts each with a heart shape pendant, with a typed collection label 99 Native Hat, Province of La Laguna. Colonel H. H. Bandholtz, P.C., 18th / 19th century,
