Description

A late George III mahogany secretaire bookcase, inlaid boxwood stringing, the detachable cornice with a broken swan neck pediment and a central turned mahogany urn, to a banded frieze with three inlaid circular paterae above a pair of astragal glazed doors with penwork Prince of Wales plumes enclosing a later silk lined interior with adjustable shelves, the crossbanded fall with later cast brass handles to a satinwood interior with chequer strung drawers and pigeon holes, the base with a pair of rectangular doors with circular centres enclosing two short and one long drawer on bracket feet, old restoration, 112in (284.5cm) h, 54in (137cm) w, 24.75in (63cm) w.
