Description
The Most Honourable Order of the Bath (KCB): the Knight Commander's neck badge and star (military) attributed to General Sir William Stirling, K.C.B., Royal Artillery (1835-1906), minor enamel damage to badge, extremely fine.
Sir William fought in the Crimean War, the Second China War, and the Second Anglo-Afghan War. Among other appointments he served as Governor of the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich, and Lieutenant of the Tower of London. Made K.C.B. in the 1893 Birthday Honours.
