A Victorian silver memorial dish,
over-stamped with maker's mark of John Beresford, London 1888,
circular form, the centre with an arms of Robert Henry Allan and the border with a memorial inscription to him, diameter 24cm, approx. weight 18.5oz.
Robert Henry Allan (1802-1879), of Blackwell Grange and Blackwell Hall, County Durham was High Sherriff of Durham in 1851.
