Description

A pair of George III silver butter shells,
by Andrew Fogelberg, London 1772/73,
shell form, with a gadroon border, supported by two whelk feet, engraved with crests and inventory numbers, length 13.5cm, approx. weight 7.3oz. (2)
Provenance: Woolley and Wallis, Salisbury, 19 October 2005, lot 842.
The crest is that of the 5th Duke of Leeds and the Fauconberg & Conyers.
