Description

A George III Irish silver entrée dish and cover,

by James Le Bas, Dublin 1809, retailed by John Keene,

circular form, gadroon borders, the centre with an armorial, the domed cover with a handle modelled as a crest, (patched), and engraved with an armorial within foliate mantling, diameter of base 31.5cm, approx. weight 62oz. (2)

The arms and crest are that of Caulfield.

Provenance: from the family collections of Captain George Lionel Jameson OBE (1880-1961), Colonel Jocelyn Elliott Armstrong (1903-2001), and their descendants.
