AN ITALIAN PAINTED HERALDIC PANEL DEPICTING THE ARMS OF THE CORNARO FAMILY

VENETIAN SCHOOL, 17TH CENTURY

with bodycolour and gold leaf on vellum, depicting the lion of St. Mark holding the arms of the Doge of Francesco Erizzo (reigned 1631-1645), above a double headed eagle, a helm and a shield, with the arms of Jerusalem, Lusignan, Armenia and Luxemburg, impaling: Per Pale Or and Azure for Corner / Cornaro and a scrolling leaf outer border, in a later glazed frame
