A SET OF FIVE REGENCY MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS IN GOTHIC REVIVAL STYLE
AFTER A DESIGN BY GEORGE SMITH, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
each with a curved and panelled top rail above a triple lancet arched back, with a conforming front frieze and quatrefoil headed tapering front legs (5)

These chairs relate closely to a design by George Smith in 'A Collection of Designs for Household Furniture, 1808' and a similar chair is illustrated in Frances Collard, 'Regency Furniture', p.190.
