A CHINESE ARCHAISTIC PALE CELADON JADE VASE AND COVER, HU
QING DYNASTY OR LATER
The flattened pear-shaped body carved in low relief with large leaf-shaped lappets, with a band of taotie masks reserved on a leiwen ground to the shoulder, the neck flanked by two handles formed as stylised dragons, the rim and flared foot incised with bands of key fret, with further lappets and key fret to the cover, surmounted by an oval finial, the pale stone with brown and white inclusions, 27.3cm.
