A CHINESE WUCAI BALUSTER VASE AND COVER
TRANSITIONAL C.1640
Painted to the exterior with a continuous scene of bamboo, peonies and chrysanthemum blooms, with birds in flight amongst the plants, the design reserved on an iron-red ground of fine circles, the short neck decorated with stylised lappets, the cover painted with further blossoming flowers growing amongst rockwork, 33.2cm.
