A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'PRECIOUS OBJECTS' OVOID VASE

KANGXI 1662-1722

Decorated with four large cartouches, each enclosing two fans painted with a figure in a garden and a building, with antiques, scrolls and books surrounding the scenes, the panels divided by bunches and branches of blooming flowers, with bands of further floral designs to the shoulder and foot, the base marked with a beribboned precious object, with a paper label reading 'ex collection Lord Chesterfield Beningbrough', together with a wood cover, 29.2cm. (2)

Provenance: from an English private collection, West Yorkshire, formed in the 1970s and 1980s.
