A LARGE JAPANESE SHIGARAKI STORAGE JAR
MEIJI PERIOD OR LATER, 19TH CENTURY OR LATER
The coil-built stoneware body with wild shoulders tapering to the foot and with a cylindrical neck and rolled rim, the surface a mottled brown and russet colour, decorated with ash deposits and firing marks all over, 29.8cm.
